Serie: 019 - WHO WE ARE, WHERE ARE WE COME FROM, WHERE ARE WE GOING TO?

I speak from this region, located south of the South, which allows me to feel, think and think myself in a particular way.

Images speak about the history of my country, which is my own story and ultimately the history of Argentina, from or in spite of the meetings / encounters, past and present.

This exhibition is a visual dialogue that combines historical, social, political and ethical-aesthetic, assuming that artistic manifestations are an essential tool for dialogue and reflection and that in certain circumstances should unsettle and denounce.

The set of the works in this exhibition, is an amalgam generated in time and is the natural result of a long process that articulates concerns socio-cultural-aesthetic.

The historical and social circumstances of past and present, collective and personal character are the food to address a problem inherent to identity with thorns and hopes that this entails. In this sense, art in general and the visual arts in particular becomes a trigger to question, discuss and reflect on the problems of the Argentine and try to answer that of Who we are, where we come from and where are we going? It will depend on our future and that of our children.

Assuming that artistic practice should testify to its historical time is that resort to patriotic symbols from carriers and couriers consider what constitutes the essence of “national spirit” aimed to continue the construction of a symbolic horizon that synthesizes the legitimate aspirations of the people.

Symbolic capital that is the foundation where all space and society and recognizes states, assuming the sense of belonging to our history, a condition that leads us to be protagonists in building our future.

From these brief visual reflections I still work here, south of the South.
